Herrera asked that the composers on this concert write in styles similar to her own which captured my imagination. I enjoyed writing and improvising to a <em>son clave<\/em> and enjoyed the piece even more when Herrera and her ensemble performed it. The score itself is a simple jazz chart with chords and a melody, although I recommended some influences for the drums (&#8220;Amor y Control by Rub\u00e9n Blades) and bass (&#8220;Falso Amor&#8221; by Willie Rosario).
