Swimming, climbing, merit badges, friends, and of course… campfire stories.

But what about the strange smoke coming from the woods, the claw-marks on the trees, the cabin that went missing last summer… I’m sure it’s nothing. There must be a rational explanation for all of it. Right???” This game is by a long list of lovely people connected through PLUS ONE EXP and headed by KeaganExe. You can find it here.

I was eager to start working on this quasi-horror project where you can never quite tell if the stories being told are true or just the children’s imagination. As a prompt, that initial idea gave me a lot to chew on. I started by improvising on guitar, adding some subtle effects to it, and layering in some natural animal noises. To my surprise, when I sent off an initial draft, KeganExe told me that it was perfect. So rather than polishing it more, I decided to lean into a more campfire/not-everything-is-perfect vibe. I hope you enjoy “Fireside Stories.”

Fireside Stories

“Pack your bags and head down the long winding road to your home away from home for a week!
