Sputter – for solo saxophone

Sputter

Sputter is a piece for solo saxophone, first premiered at my senior recital at the end of my undergraduate degree. It has a very light program, focusing on the idea that all fires eventually sputter and fade. The piece is a theme and variations in four large sections which show off some impressive pyrotechnics on the saxophonist’s part.
